Exactly 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story movie was released, establishing Pixar as a major animation studio and bringing viewers to beloved figures like Woody (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, offering a brief look into the storyline but keeping fans curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Gang

In the teaser shows Bonnie — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. She gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.

Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser doesn't touch on is what the sheriff is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and assisting prize toys locate loving owners.

Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether his partner will have returned with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?

Continuity from the Previous Film

At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The final act Woody did before setting off for his new life was hand over his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip displays the insignia pinned to her outfit.

It is hoped she is remains the key figure among the group.

Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on the scheduled date.
