🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Frustration Over Size Updates Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Updates Previously, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Stories One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
